Strategic Direction
Ashcare is committed to the provision of ongoing quality accommodation and support for people who have severe disabilities and complex support needs.

Our overall strategic direction is to:
  • Be the best specialist provider of community-based supported accommodation services for people who have severe disabilities in Victoria.
  •   
  • Increase the number of Ashcare's accommodation services in order to:
    • Ensure ongoing viability, stability and security for service users; and
    • Produce operational synergy benefits in all aspects of management and service user support, with emphasis on development of excellent staff teams in each residence.
  •  
  • Include a younger clientele whose supporting families and advocates provide a source of younger committee members to manage and promote Ashcare into the future.
  •  
  • Provide supported accommodation services to people whose disabilities include a primary requirement for specialized behavioural support, whilst continuing in our recognised role as a provider of quality supported accommodation services for people with cerebral palsy and commonly associated conditions.
Objectives
Ashcare aims to:
  • Recognise the human dignity of all service users.
  •  
  • Nurture respect for individual rights and needs, including the freedom of choice.
  •  
  • Provide secure, stable environments meeting individual physical and emotional needs.
  •  
  • Inspire personal confidence and encourage ongoing development through meaningful and image  enhancing activities at home and in the wider community, acknowledging special needs in the areas  of self awareness, communication, mobility, social interaction and community living skills.
  •  
  • Encourage and maintain strong family links for service users.
  •  
  • Provide support and assistance to parents and families still caring at home  for family members who have severe and multiple disabilities.
  •  
  • Maintain the highest level of service delivery and personal care according to the Intellectually Disabled Persons Service Act (1986), the Disability Services Act (1991), the National Standards for Disability  Persons Service (1993), the Victorian Standards for Disability Services (1997) and the Quality Framework for Disability Services (1997).
