Rates of Pay: Permanent Part Time Employees
The rates of pay for Permanent Part-Time Disability Support Workers within Ashcare is commensurate with the rates set down by the Residential and Support Services (Victoria) Award 1999 (and subsequent arbitrated amendments thereto). 
The applicable rates of pay take into account any prior experience and/or qualifications within the disability industry and any relevant training completed.

Rates of Pay: Casual Employees

The salary payable for Disability Support Workers employed within Ashcare's services on a casual basis is commensurate with the rates set down by the Residential and Support Services (Victoria) Award 1999 (and subsequent arbitrated amendments). 
The applicable rates of pay take into account any prior experience and/or qualifications within the disability industry and any relevant training completed.

Special Benefits
Salary Packaging

Ashcare provides salary packaging up to a total of $16,050 per annum. This arrangement permits staff members to bundle payments such as credit cards, health insurance, mortgage payments into packages specifically designed for      their needs.

Salary packaging effectively increases the net amount of each employee’s fortnightly pay and reduces the amount of tax payable, thereby permitting employees to obtain the full taxation benefit from their package arrangement.

Salary packaging is only available to Permanent Part-Time (PPT) employees as Casuals' earnings will fluctuate from pay to pay depending on hours worked.

The 9% employer contribution of superannuation is paid on employees' pre-packaged salary.

Superannuation

Ashcare pays employer contributions of superannuation at the rate of 9% on behalf of all PPT and Casual employees into HESTA Super Fund (under the Award) or to the employee's nominated superannuation fund.

Annual Leave Entitlement

Ashcare provides Annual Leave up to a maximum of five (5) weeks per annum (calculated upon shifts worked) for Permanent Part-Time employees.

Annual Leave is paid at the employee’s average rostered hourly rate (including shift penalties) 
OR   their hourly base rate + 17.5% Leave Loading  
whichever amount is the greatest.


Other Leave Entitlements

Permanent Part-Time employees also accrue entitlements for Sick Leave, Personal Leave, Family Leave and Compassionate Leave (calculated on  a pro-rata basis).


On-Going Training Opportunities

Ashcare encourages and provides on-going training for all staff members to update and/or increase their skills and competencies.  Employees are paid to attend training days and to update first aid certificates.
