Ashcare was founded in 1977 to provide community based accommodation and support to adults with severe and multiple disabilities. Ashcare has been operating disability services since 1991.

Ashcare is a registered charity and public benevolent institution, managed by a Voluntary Board. It was founded by families and retains a strong family focus - many Board members are brothers and sisters of people who live within our residential services.

Ashcare is both a disability service provider, and a community housing provider. We have an annual budget of approximately $2million and employ 45-50 people, mostly as disability support workers in our residential services.

The Ashcare Symbol is a representation of an ash tree.

The ash tree is valued for its shade and shelter - it is a haven of beauty and stability.
